Barry H. Fromm, Esq. – CEO
Barry draws on extensive experience as an entrepreneur, and as Chairman and CEO of VRG and its portfolio companies. He has a long-standing history of developing public-private partnerships that align the incentives of both parties to produce high-quality results through a documented history of clear communication and highly responsive action in all agency interactions. He has developed partnerships with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Resolution Trust Corporation, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, and the Ohio Attorney General.
Prior to his current role at VRG, Barry served as corporate counsel for a savings and loan association, and served as a financial institutions management consultant for Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He also served as an asset valuation and asset management contractor to the Resolution Trust Corporation, where he managed a $200 million portfolio of non-performing loans and real estate.
Ralph E. Griffith – COO
Ralph has extensive experience in investment banking, corporate lending, and investment management. Through his work with the Export-Import Bank of the United States, he has recovered assets, restructured loans, and prepared loan guarantees. For 20 years, he served in senior corporate lending roles at Ameritrust, Bank One, and Huntington Bank, where he performed marketing and strategic planning for commercial mortgage securities. He also served as a Managing Director at Helston Capital, an investment bank specializing in corporate finance advisory, debt and equity financing and restructuring for privately held companies. Ralph was also a Principal in OhioAngels.com, introducing early-stage technology companies to pre-qualified private investors and professional firms, and assisting these early-stage companies with planning and access to capital.
Ralph has extensive expertise in complex financial transactions, fund administration, and asset recovery. He is also skilled at restructuring and turnaround management and has served as a receiver in Ohio.
Jim Benjamin – Vice President Business Development
Jim oversees RAB Inc. operations and sales and has more than 35 years of Account Receivable Management experience with some of the Largest BPO organizations, such as, Payco American, OSI, and NCO. He has extensive experience in Operations, Sales and Client Relationship Management.
In September of 2015 Jim joined VRG where he currently serves as the Senior Vice President. Jim provides oversight and direction as the company expands through agency acquisitions that have a strong education, government, retail and banking portfolio background. Jim has more than 20 years of education recovery experience and executive oversight of some of the largest education clients in the industry, including the Department of Education, Navient, ECMC, Great Lakes/Performant, and AES/PHEAA, to name a few.
Robert F. Pugh – Vice President Sales
Bob serves as Vice President of Sales and Client Relationship Management of RAB Inc. He was responsible for the development of student loan collection growth and continues to be a driving force in RAB Inc.’s penetration and competitive success in all of the markets served.
Bob was instrumental in developing the Federal Family Education Loan Program loan division, working with a dozen guarantors over time including Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation, National Student Loan Program; College Assist; and the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation. He serves in a contract administration capacity on all guarantor contracts.
A frequent speaker at national conferences, Bob was on a panel to discuss dialer strategies for default management at the 2010 National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs conference. Bob is also actively involved in the Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organizations and ACA International.
Robert F. Wyatt – Vice President of Administration and CCO
As Vice President of Administration and Chief Compliance Officer, Bob oversees the application and dissemination of information regarding all applicable new and updated federal, state, and local laws. Bob manages a staff quality control specialists and compliance personnel, and oversees all client contract requirements, compliance, licensing, and bonding.
Bob previously served as Director of Compliance and Human Resources from 2009-2015. Prior to these duties, Bob was the Compliance Manager at RAB. He was responsible for implementing documented company policies and procedures. Bob also worked with RAB’s IT department and a team from Ontario Systems to automate many of the due diligence functions, ensuring that required steps are taken on each account, paving the way for many of the automated processes that are in place today at RAB. In 2003, Bob also assumed the dual role of Human Resources Manager. In that department, he oversees the payroll and benefits for company employees with a human resources generalist who reports to him.
Carrie Stout – Vice President of Collections
Carrie Stout is the Vice President of Collections in the Education Department at RAB Inc. and its sister company, Value Recovery Holding, LLC. She joined VRG in May of 2009 as the Operations Manager of the department and has over 10 years’ experience in the collections industry. Her knowledge and expertise in the Department of Education contract has made her a valued asset. Carrie is a proven leader and is responsible for all the operations of the department including front line collections, administrative wage garnishment, account resolution, quality assurance, staff and management training and development, rehabilitation, and client services . She is also responsible for the implementation and creation of all policies pertaining to her department as well as accounting and budget analysis.
She has worked with many educational contracts such as Sallie Mae, American Education, Great Lakes Higher Education, ECMC, Illinois Private Student Loans, Ed fund, Florida Department of Education, and the US Department of Education and is familiar with all procedures and policies pertaining to defaulted student loans and federal programs. Carrie is passionate about helping borrowers and exceeding client’s goals.
Carrie is a member of ACA International and has earned the Compliance Officer and Scholar Designation.
Bruce Long – Director of Operations
Bruce currently serves as the Director of Operations of our Retail and Student Loan Departments. Bruce wrote and implemented new procedures for the company’s retail accounts, and oversees all contract portfolio management and compliance.
Bruce previously served as Collection Manager from May 2010 to July 2016. He began his career with RAB in 1986, as a retail collector, working with banking portfolios to help consumers resolve their financial obligations.
Jeffery J. Sniderman, Esq. – Secretary & General Counsel
Jeff serves as Secretary and General Counsel for RAB Inc. He is also the managing attorney for Fromm Law Group, LLC, which is RAB Inc.’s captive law firm.
Jeff manages the company’s legal operations, drawing from his considerable experience representing receivables management entities, distressed asset investment and management companies, and asset recovery companies. Jeff has extensive experience working with fortune five hundred companies, federal and state government agencies and offices, public-private partnerships, commercial and consumer creditors, political subdivisions, commercial real estate developers, and small business owners.
Jeff originally hails from Dayton, Ohio, received his collegiate education in upstate New York, and moved back to Ohio to embark on his legal career. He is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky, and is admitted to the US District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, and the District of Colorado.
Steve Renaker – Northern Accounts Director
Steve is working with Banking and Campus Clients throughout the East and Midwest. He assists with the collection of commercial and consumer debt, asset management, receivership, and executing loan programs. His clients include US Department of Education, US Department of Energy, State of Ohio, 5th/3rd Bank, 250 Colleges and Universities, and the FDIC, our longest relationship where we have been designated as a Top Performer.
Steve also provided oversight for a company that had at one time 10 Golf Courses and Country Clubs. Included, and our flagship was Tartan Fields Golf Club, an Arnold Palmer design with over 500 members and $5.5mm in revenue
